A clear route through the tenses

Start with Verb to be and Present Simple. Continue to Present Continuous, Past Simple and Past Continuous. Then explore future forms and Present Perfect. Try the further forms when you feel ready.

This is a flexible learning route, not a qualification level. Ask your tutor which lesson is right for you.

2. Practise

3. Use it

Write your own example, ask a partner a question and revisit missed questions another day.

Practise in the way that suits you

  • Work on positive sentences, negatives or questions.
  • Try sentence changes, word order and error correction.
  • Read explanations and practise missed questions.
  • Use the lesson print option or an available PDF worksheet.

Progress is saved in this browser when browser storage is available. It may disappear if browser data is cleared or a guest session ends, and it does not automatically move between devices. No name or account is needed for these activities.

Mastery practice reuses selected lesson questions. Future forms overlap in real English: context and the meaning you want to express matter.

For learners and tutors

Use the lessons in class, for homework or for independent learning. Choose suitable forms, rehearse aloud and revisit them with fresh examples. Worksheets are learning resources, not official qualification assessments.
