Understand the situation
Look for the time, the person and the meaning. Is this a routine, an activity in progress, an earlier event, a plan or a completed result?
A review, not a qualification test
This challenge draws from the lesson question banks. Some questions name the form to use; others ask you to recognise the meaning or correct a sentence. It is a guided learning review, not an unseen exam.
Mixed rounds contain ten questions. Individual topic rounds contain six or seven questions. Use feedback to identify an area to revisit, and practise missed questions after a round.
New to the section? Start with am, is, are, was and were, then Present Simple and Present Continuous. Further forms are optional until you feel ready.
Three things to check
Time
Does the context refer to now, a past point, an earlier past action, or the future?
Focus
Are you describing a habit, activity, completed amount, duration, plan or result?
Structure
Check the helping verb, the main verb form, the subject and the position of not or the question word.
8. Your practice space
Choose a topic or try a mixed round. Mixed rounds have 10 questions; individual mastery topics have 6 or 7. Type answers, choose an option or build a sentence. Read the feedback before moving on.
Full forms and standard contractions are accepted. Capital letters and final punctuation do not affect your score. Each answer is checked once per round; you can practise missed questions afterwards.
The final review draws from this question bank. It is a learning check, not a qualification test.
